As COVID-19 lockdown orders were rolled out in March of this year, ITAG board member and Director of LBDesign, Liam Dempsey was eager to support his local business community in a meaningful way. In April, Liam and fellow local business owner, Joe Casabona, launched the Start Local podcast with a focus on helping businesses in Chester County and greater Philly navigate the COVID-19 economy. Now 20 published episodes, the show’s format is simple. Liam and Joe interview local business owners and leaders, and locally elected politicians, to share stories of businesses which have successfully pivoted, to offer guidance on where to get help, and to document the real challenges these local businesses and charities face.
Active with ITAG since 2018, Liam serves as the Outreach and Marketing Committee Chair and on the TECH360 Planning Committee. Reflecting on his continued involvement with ITAG, Liam candidly shared his thoughts:
“In a world of fierce competitiveness, ITAG helps businesses and organizations build meaningful connections and partnerships with others in the tech sector across the Delaware Valley and southeast Pennsylvania. Through ITAG, my own business has benefited from these connections as I’ve developed.”
